Vehicle Tech Inspection

Nord Stern requires a technical inspection for all vehicles participating in track events. This inspection should be performed by a qualified mechanic, preferably at a Nord Stern-approved shop familiar with PCA rules and the Club’s specific requirements.

Starting in 2026, Nord Stern HPDE events require an electronic tech inspection form originating from the Kerbz.app registration portal.  In Kerbz, once you have registered for an event, there will be a black “Submit Inspection” button next to your car.  Click that, and the next page will offer a choice of approved shops or the ability to email your tech inspection to a shop of your choice.  Once the shop completes your inspection, that information will be loaded into your registration. When all of the required registration steps are completed (e.g. fees paid, tech inspection, waivers signed), Kerbz will complete your registration with a QR code used when checking in at the track.

Check and Double-Check

Before each track event, drivers should personally verify the following:

  • Brake Pads: Should have more than 50% material remaining
  • Brake Fluid: It’s highly recommended to use the OEM brake fluid and
replace it with a high-temperature fluid like Castrol SRF
  • Tires: Ensure at least 50% tread remains
  • Wheels: Lug nuts must be torqued to the manufacturer’s specifications
  • Fluids: Check all fluid levels and top off as necessary
  • Seat Belts: Confirm they are in good condition and function properly
  • Harnesses: Harnesses must not be expired
  • HANS device: Use of harnesses requires use of a Hans or similar system
  • Lights: Verify that headlights, taillights, and turn signals are operational
  • Helmet: A Snell SA2015 or newer is required
  • Interior: Remove floor mats and ensure the interior is free of loose items

By adhering to these guidelines, drivers contribute to a safer track environment for themselves and others.
